Perfect for applying makeup, putting in contact lenses. Plenty of light and the magnification is good. Make sure you install it at the height that's right for you. Mine was put in at the height suggested in the packaging and it was too high. Lived with it until we re-did the bathroom and I was able to move it. Renovating the kid's bathroom now and just bought another one!
